So I was surprised since I had rarely heard of asus. For starters both have much better processors than MBP and if one were to compare the MBP with the higher processor (still not an i3) the price difference would be glaring. Again, asus has the U35JC which is around the same mark. the very nice portege R700 costs only 799 $ and it has many more features than the MBP (13 inch). Again, this is not to say macs are bad, just that they don't seem to be special even though mac markets itself that way, and of course justifies its policy of charging a premium.Į.g. Also i've met some who have had hard disk failures with macbooks. I have personally seen numerous people whose Toshiba's last and last. So frankly, I am not surprised that asus is on top.
